We kick off our second year of the podcast with my former boss at South Alabama - Rick Pietri.  Rick is the winningest coach at both South Alabama and Jacksonville State.  Coach Pietri is also second, All time, in wins in the state of Alabama behind Joe Ciampi.

Episode #30 - Tim Miller Hazel Green HS - Max Preps National Coach of the Year

I sit down with one of the best high school coaches in the Country.  Coach Tim Miller just finished up winning the 6A Alabama State Championship with a 35-0 record.  This is also his 5th straight Championship at Hazel Green.

Prior to Hazel Green, Coach Miller won championships at both Jeff Davis and Bob Jones.

We talk about everything from team culture to parent meetings.  He even shares a conversation with a parent when he arrived at Hazel Green, who told him his methods wouldn't work at Hazel Green.  Boy, was that parent wrong!!!

I sit down with one of the most impactful coaches in the country, when it comes to women's basketball.  Coach Mike Neighbors is a proven winner, and one of the best minds in basketball.

 

We talk about his beginnings with his mentor Coach Gary Blair, and a little bit of everything in between.  From is thoughts on the slogan "Defense wins Championships", to his favorite books and even a surprise MUST watch tv series.

 

This one is long overdue.

Another Lady Techster Camp Alumni joins me on the podcast.  Jodi has taken her coaching background and expanded it to being an author and so much more.  

Jodi touches on her three books and shares some stories with us - from meeting some NBA legends to climbing mountains.  She has also connected the challenges of her experiences to building the mindsets of athletes.
